Pall Mall Launch Healthcare Subscription Service To Help Curb NHS Waiting Times
- Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) has the highest number of long waiters, 969, followed by University of Leicester NHS Trust, 837.
- Mancunians can now pay as little as £41 a month for a medical concierge service
HEALTH-conscious Brits, seeking alternative solutions outside the NHS, can now subscribe to an annual health-care plan costing less than a daily cup of coffee and a smidgen over a streaming service.
Leading medical group Pall Mall have launched Thrive, a brand-new subscription service providing affordable and fast access to private healthcare including face-to-face doctor appointments.
Growing NHS waiting times post-pandemic mean patients are facing huge delays when trying to access healthcare and are struggling to secure appointments with NHS GP’s and Consultants. Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is the worst NHS trust in the country when it comes to waiting times, as reported last week in the Telegraph.
Mancunians are now seeking alternative healthcare options.
“We wanted to offer a service that’s easily accessible and affordable, gives people peace of mind and provides a fast course to appointments and necessary treatments,” said Dr Chun Tang, Medical Director at Pall Mall.
“We understand that the NHS is struggling to catch-up after the Covid pandemic. We also appreciate there are people who may not be able to wait weeks to be seen by a doctor or have certain tests or scans.
“Our Thrive health plans offer an alternative solution for those who can’t wait, at a fee that is generally affordable, less than the price of your daily cup of coffee.
“It also reflects the current changing national healthcare landscape,” he added.
Just this week, in a bid to free up millions of GP appointments, it was announced that NHS patients who suffer from common complaints would no longer need to see a doctor to receive certain prescription medications.
Earaches, sore throats, shingles and urinary tract infections (UTIs) are some of the familiar ailments which can now be treated by a local chemist instead.
Pharmacists will also be able to check people’s blood pressure and offer certain contraception options.
But for those with other medical concerns who need a quick access to a GP, or need specific scans and tests, affordable private healthcare plans like Thrive could offer the answer, from as little as £495 per year or £41.25 per month.
“We have 4 different plans available to suit everyone’s health needs and budget, including our Thrive Family plan which includes cover for the members immediate family. Our essential healthcare plan, lowest in price, for example, gives patients up to five face-to-face appointments yearly and unlimited telephone GP appointments,” added Dr Tang.
“It also offers nurse led health screens and a personal medical concierge. So, if you have an unexpected health problem, you’ll be provided with all the support you need.
“And we have our own private hospital located in Newton-Le-Willows, allowing us to refer patients without delay for a range of tests and scans including MRI, CT and X-rays.”
On site consultants at Pall Mall, cover all major healthcare areas, ranging from cardiologists and gynaecologists to urologists, dermatologists and paediatricians.
