What causes the wax build-up and blocked ears? If you produce excessive amounts of earwax, and also use cotton buds, earplugs or a hearing aid, then the wax can become compacted into the ear canal – and that can be very uncomfortable and frustrating. If your ears are blocked with wax you may experience muffled hearing and persistent ringing. Don't ‘prod and poke’ – you might make it worse, pushing the wax further into the ear canal. Do I need to do anything before I attend my appointment? The microsuction removal treatment is a far more gentle procedure than other types of ear wax removal, you can come back far more regularly for treatment. Use ear drops to soften the wax and then any kind of irrigation will be much easier and more successful too. The drops can be used up to five days before the procedure. Contact us to make an appointment or book online, appointments are usually available daily.

Private GP appointment medical insurance
At Pall Mall we work with all of the major, private medical insurance companies. You may be able to cover the cost of a private GP using your medical insurance policy. However, to make sure always contact your insurance company before booking an appointment. They’ll check to see whether your policy covers this service at Pall Mall and they can pre-authorise your consultation. When you contact us, you’ll need to provide your insurance details and pre-authorisation code.
It’s easy to get an appointment online or over the phone.
What happens during a telephone or video appointment?
You can expect the same treatment you’d recieve in-clinic from your private doctor - but you can take it in the comfort of your own home through telephone or video link.
In terms of content, a telephone or video consultation will go through the exact same processes as if you were having a chat in-person, where you can discuss your concerns and symptoms.
From here, your GP can suggest treatment options and next steps, such as a scan, medication, further testing or a referral to one of our specialist consultants.
The doctor will contact you at the number you provide when you book a telephone appointment. Similarly, if you choose a video consultation, you’ll receive an email with a link.
When it’s time for your appointment, all you have to do is click on the link and follow the simple instructions to join your GP on video.
Our virtual GP surgeries are designed with you in mind.
So whether you’re out and about or settled at home, make sure you’re in a comfortable, quiet spot where no one can overhear you.
