Breast Enlargement Surgery FAQs

Where does surgery take place?

We are one of the few cosmetic surgery providers owned and led by doctors. We understand your safety and experience as a patient should come first, and this is why we have our own private hospital in Newton-le-Willows (near St Helens, just off jnc 23 of M6) featuring 2x state-of-the-art theatres and en-suite rooms for your comfort and privacy. Our hospital is registered with the CQC so you're in safe hands with Pall Mall.

What breast implants do we use?

We have a range of implants available from leading brands including Mentor, Allergan and Motiva. During your free consultation you will be able to discuss the look you are trying to achieve with one of our expert breast surgeons, who will also be able to advise on the most suitable placement of the implants.

How do I choose the size of a breast implant?

Each person is different - a certain size and profile in one person might look completely different in another. Many patients will know a friend or colleague who has had a breast enlargement. The two most common shapes of implants are round and anatomical (teardrop shaped also called "teardrop boob job").

What other breast surgery procedures are available?

- Breast uplift (mastopexy)

- Breast reduction surgery

- Breast implant removal & replacement

- Mummy Makeover (tummy tuck and breast surgery)

Will I need a follow up appointment?

Yes, your consultant will follow up your procedure. You will be told about your follow up appointment on discharge.

What medications should I take after my procedure?

This will be discussed with you prior to surgery. After any procedure you may be given additional medications such as pain killers to take home. The doses, times to take the medications and other instructions around these medications will be explained to you in detail before discharge.

How long will it take me to recover?

Patients who choose to have their repair under local anaesthetic typically recover much quicker than patients who choose general anaesthetic.

In terms of your recovery, you'll be back to full fitness in 4-6 weeks.

For other activities:

Gym/swimming -  4-6 weeks
Sexual activities – 2-3 weeks
Flying -  2 week (or no restrictions if under local anaesthetic)
Swim - 4-6 weeks
Shower - 48 hours
Driving - 10 days
