Dr Leena Das

Dr Leena Das is a Consultant Rheumatologist at Pennine Acute NHS Trust since 2012 and looks after about 1000 patients a year with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. She has the expertise of treating general, specialist and complex diseases as part of the spectrum of Rheumatological conditions. As the principle investigator for the department she is actively involved in recruitment for clinical trials. She also looks after in-patients at North Manchester general hospital.

Dr Das firmly believes in the importance of clear, open communication with patients and sufferers of musculoskeletal conditions. She works closely alongside a multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses and podiatrists. She believes timely diagnosis and focused and individualized treatment can help significantly to improve pain, disability and quality of life.

Dr Das completed her medical degree in India in 1999. Further medical training was at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff between 2002 to 2006. She trained in Rheumatology in Cambridge in 2007 and In the North West from 2008-2012. At the same time she also did a Masters in Clinical Rheumatology from the University of Manchester and was awarded with a degree in 2011.
